Privacy policy
This draft explains what personal information Fairview Audit collects, why we collect it and who receives it. Effective date: [CONFIRM: effective date]. Fairview connects businesses with partner firms that review costs and contracts. This policy covers that connection service and this website.
What the request forms collect
When you submit a request, we collect:
- your business name
- your contact name
- your email address
- a phone number, which is optional
- the cost categories you want reviewed
- a message you write in your own words
Please do not put account numbers, passwords or full contract text in the message field. A partner firm will explain how to share documents securely once it contacts you.
Why we collect it
We use this information to read your request, to decide which partner firm fits, and to let that firm contact you. On the not sure or another need path, Fairview staff read your request to match it by hand. We may also use your email to reply to a question you ask us.
Sharing with the matched firm
Your request details go to the partner firm matched to your request, so that it can contact you. After that, the firm handles your information under its own terms and policies. Fairview does not control how a firm uses information you give it directly. Ask the firm for its privacy terms in your first conversation.
We do not sell your request details. We do not publish them. We name no business or person who has made a request.
Storage of submissions and visitor data
The site software stores form submissions. By default, it may also store the IP address of each visitor who submits a form. [CONFIRM: whether IP address storage is switched off]
Form submissions are kept for 12 months or less. [CONFIRM: retention window for any stored IP addresses]. Federal guidance advises businesses to keep personal information only as long as they have a legitimate need for it. Counsel will confirm how long data may be kept and the reasons for it.
Cookies and analytics
Whether this site uses cookies or analytics tools, which ones, and for what purpose, is [CONFIRM: cookies and analytics in use]. If any are used, this section will name each category and explain how to refuse them.
Your choices
You can choose not to submit a form. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us using the Contact page. We will tell you if a request cannot be met, and why.
What rights apply to you may depend on where you live. Some state laws, such as California's, let residents ask a business what it holds, and ask for corrections or deletion. [VERIFY: which privacy laws apply to site visitors and what rights they give]
Security
We aim to protect the information you submit with reasonable measures suited to a small web service. The FTC advises businesses to collect only what they need and to protect what they keep. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Do not send sensitive records through the forms.
Who can see your information
Access is limited to Fairview staff who handle requests and to the matched firm. We do not give your details to other firms that are not matched to your request. If you ask us to stop sharing your details, tell us before the firm contacts you if you can.
Information about children
This site is for businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Federal children's privacy rules apply to services aimed at children under 13, and to general sites that learn they hold such data.
Changes to this policy
We aim to follow this policy as written, and to describe our practices accurately. We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. If a change affects how we use details you already gave us, we will say so on this page.
