What Fairview does

Fairview connects businesses with finance professionals and partner firms that review costs and contracts. A business submits a request, and Fairview routes it to a matched firm, or matches it by hand on the not sure path. After that, the business and the firm deal with each other directly.

What Fairview does not do

Fairview performs no audit, tax, accounting or legal work. It does not review contracts, check invoices, prepare tax filings, give valuations or recover money. Those services, if provided, are provided by the partner firm.

Fairview is not a party to the engagement between you and a firm. Any statement of work, fee or term is agreed between you and the firm.

Independence of firms

Partner firms are independent firms. Firms act for themselves. They do not act as Fairview's employees or agents unless a written agreement says so.

No guarantee

Fairview does not guarantee any saving, refund, credit, outcome or timeline. Whether a review finds anything depends on your records and on the firm. A review may find nothing. Fairview also does not guarantee that a firm will be available, that it will accept your request or that it will respond within any period.

Pages on this site describe what reviews typically look at. They are not promises about what a review of your records will find.

General information only

The content on this site is general. It is not professional advice. It does not take account of your circumstances, your contracts or the law that applies to you. Statements about law, tax rules or accounting standards are kept general. Where we state something specific, check it with a qualified adviser. [VERIFY: counsel to review all references to law, tax and accounting standards across the site]

Do not rely on this site in place of advice from a qualified lawyer, tax adviser or accountant.

How Fairview is compensated

Fairview is paid a referral fee by partner firms. The FTC advises that a paid or financial connection should be disclosed clearly, close to the content it relates to, and not buried in a long agreement. Take this into account when you decide whether to proceed.

Third-party claims and links

Where a partner firm supplies a statement, the statement belongs to that firm. We publish it only with the firm's written approval, and we do not verify it. Links to other websites are provided for convenience. Their content belongs to their owners, and Fairview is not responsible for it.

Descriptions of services

Descriptions on category pages reflect general knowledge of the kinds of review that firms in a network of this type commonly perform. A given firm may offer more, less or something different. Confirm with the firm what it will and will not do before you agree to an engagement.

Your own responsibility

You remain responsible for your own decisions. Before you act on a firm's findings, consider asking your own lawyer, tax adviser or accountant to look at them. Before you contact a vendor or landlord about a charge, check your contract and any notice terms that apply. A firm may suggest an approach, and you decide whether to follow it.

Limits of this page

This page does not limit any right you have under law that cannot be limited. Counsel will confirm the final wording, including any limit on liability.
