Frequently asked questions

This page answers common questions about Fairview Audit. Fairview connects businesses with finance professionals and partner firms that review costs and contracts. If your question is not here, use the Contact page.

About Fairview

What is Fairview Audit?

Fairview is a connection service. You describe a cost or contract you want reviewed, and Fairview routes your request to a partner firm. The firm performs the review. Read more on the About page.

Does Fairview do the review itself?

No. Fairview does not perform audit, tax, accounting or legal work. Partner firms do that work. Fairview matches and introduces.

Are the partner firms independent?

Firms in our network are independent firms. The Disclaimer page sets out the details for review.

Requests

How do I make a request?

Choose a path on the Request a professional page: larger business, smaller business, or not sure or another need. Each path has a form. Submit the form and a firm will contact you.

Which path should I choose?

There is no fixed size cut-off between the first two paths. If you cannot tell, or your need is unusual, use the not sure path. Fairview reads those requests and matches them by hand.

What happens after I submit?

The matched firm contacts you, asks for documents, reports its findings to you and works with you on corrections with the vendor or landlord. You stay involved. The full sequence is on How it works.

Costs

What does a review cost?

Fees are set by the partner firm. The engagement, and any fees, are between you and the firm under the firm's own terms. Some firms may work on a contingency basis, and some may let you keep your existing vendors. Ask the firm directly. [CONFIRM: a partner firm supplies and approves this statement]

Does Fairview charge me, and how is Fairview paid?

Fairview is paid a referral fee by partner firms. Ask the partner firm about its own fees. Those are set between you and the firm. Some partner firms work on a contingency basis, and many let you keep your existing vendors. Confirm both with the firm before you agree to anything.

Is there a cost to submit a request?

Submitting a form does not start an engagement. You decide whether to proceed after the firm contacts you and explains its terms.

Can I compare firms before I agree?

You can ask the firm for its terms and decide whether they suit you. Our article on questions to ask a partner firm lists topics to raise in that first conversation.

Privacy and data

What information do the forms collect?

The forms ask for your business name, contact name, email, an optional phone number, the cost categories you want reviewed and a message. The Privacy policy explains why each item is collected.

Who sees my request?

Fairview staff and the matched partner firm see it. On the not sure path, Fairview reads it first to choose a match.

How long is my information kept?

The retention window for form data is 12 months or less. The site software may also store visitor IP addresses by default. The privacy policy states what applies. [CONFIRM: whether IP address storage is switched off]

Can I ask for my information to be deleted?

You can ask. The Contact page lists how to reach us. What deletion rights apply may depend on where you are. [VERIFY: which privacy laws apply to site visitors]

Still have a question?

Some answers depend on which firm is matched to you and on the type of review. For those, the firm is the right source once it contacts you.

Browse the Services section for descriptions of each cost category, or the Glossary for plain definitions of common terms.

Find out what you are overpaying.

Tell us what you need reviewed. We match you by hand with an independent partner firm. You keep your existing vendors.
